Prada Fall-Winter 2009-10 Ad Campaign

Prada doesn’t feel the strong breeze anymore but the tide of fashion is still hot! Last season, they went for the domino-models lineup and the models are still strong this coming Fall!

The Prada Fall-Winter 2009/2010 Ad Campaign expertly filmed by Steven Meyzelom brings together the dark waters and crimped hair beauties of Anna de Rijk, Julia Hafstrom, Katlin Aas, Kendra Spears, Ymre Stiekema under Steven Meisel’s lenses.

The studio shots are less psychedelic than the previous campaigns and once again distinguished itself with bright images and an unusual theme. The Prada Fall 2009 images come with no less digital enhancement than an ordinary magazine cover. Plasticizing and depersonalize the characters of the beautiful and impeccable faces of models bringing more focus to the clothes and accessories.

The story continues with more images right after the jump!

Prada Spring 2010 Menswear Collection

The designer, Miuccia Prada came up with some latest fashion for men in a Milan where the overriding feeling is of designers twist from their own previous body of work. The Prada Spring 2010 Menswear Collection was covered and mixed with colors ranging from black to white made up of quotes from confusing movies to a great new stage set of wet shade walls.

You could imagine the show seems a somber summer moment because of quotes in giant two-foot-high script and the charcoal foam seating to the collection itself, largely made up of various takes on gray.

Miuccia once said: “A movie, in black and white,” floated around with trays of the ideal, color coordinated cocktail – a White Russian. Even though it was restricted in color, this is one of the most innovative shows ever in Milan collections.

Prada Clothing "Counts Most"

The Prada fashion week was all shameless reveling in femininity and absolutely, everyone talked about the controversial ad campaign depicting a severely anorexic girl that had been revealed to thousands of journalists and buyers attended the shows.

Anybody is talking about the Spring/Summer 2009 collection unveiled by Miuccia Prada. To make the show worst, several models stumbled and fell trying to walk down the runway in impossibly high platform shoes.

The Prada clothing is absolutely primitive in nature. The fifties overtones, with the high chignons, the crumpled bras, and swishing rear action in the below-knee pencil skirts, managed to channel the heyday of Cinecittà without cliché. Best of all, this is a collection destined to look even better on a woman with a real body than it does on a teen model. And Mrs. Prada surely knows, really is “what counts most.”

Prada at Milan Fashion Week for A/W 2009

Milan Fashion Week was a complete 360 degrees that showcased fashion powerhouses with their ultimate designers.

Miuccia Prada is a renowned fashion designer everyone looks every Fashion Week because you know what she sends down the catwalk will be reproduced a million times the following season. She is a trendsetter, a revolutionary and a damn brilliant designer.

This season was no exception. A cross between "The Changling and A River Runs Through It", Prada’s Fall/Winter 2009 was an intriguing collection to say the least. Imagine that a character from Gosford Park ran off with a fisherman and you’ll understand the feel to this collection. This is ultra glamorous, super feminine and tough.

Practical Collections from Prada

If you take a closer look on fur Prada clothing you can see the perfect blend of easy to wear coats, fascinating evening wears that was glamorously and surprisingly dressed down with fisherman’s waders. Suiting and shifts made up the majority of this line, but shapes are played proportionally to skinny belts. The shorts tied high on the waist with tucked in, pulled down cardigans look sexy yet quirky. The dull palette of blacks, chocolates and browns are highlighted with olive, rust and red.

The footwear collections were “walkable” in nature that took into the next level for Prada shoes. Pumps, clogs and satin evening shoes sat nicely alongside those lovely waders. This was a collection that you can easily wear everyday without any hesitation.

The velvet fabrics are the huge trend for AW09 and the patterns added great impact on luxurious feel embellished with sequins created a dramatic appeal. These array of elegant dresses are the perfect remedy for the dark days.

So whether it’s the silhouettes, gorgeous handbags, sensible and walkable shoes or fur skirts, you can be sure you will be wearing a Prada inspired outfit for the upcoming season.

Miuccia Prada: the Name Behind the Label

The fashion label, Prada was founded in 1913 in Milan, Italy as a manufacturer of luxury leather goods. What is known today as Prada is mostly the work of the founder's grand-daughter Miuccia Prada.

Miuccia Prada, an Italian designer and entrepreneur was born in 1949. After university, she entered the family business 1978 and soon revolutionized the appearance of its products. Her interest in unusual fabrics led to the distinctive trademark of Prada products: the surprising combination of materials. There are usually two discoveries to be made when dealing with Prada products: First, the surprise to see the use of a specific material in an unusual context and in consequence, the astonishment how good it fits the purpose. In 1989, she introduced women's wear with instant success, men's wear followed equally successful in 1995.

Prada is said to be the most prominent example of a new form of inward-directed luxury. While in the eighties luxury was explicitly displayed, today an understated luxury is sought, only recognizable by insiders. Thus, Prada clothes avoid very loud coloring and easily appealing appearances. They are described as cool, comfortable, pure, graceful, and minimalistic.

Miuccia Prada, who is entirely in charge of the companies creative decisions, says she bases her decisions mostly on intuition. She is reported to be overly fussy about each detail of her design. It can happen that each product has to be changed over and over in order to come closest to Miuccia Prada's initial idea. Her husband Patrizio Bertelli is the business-man behind Miuccia Prada. He is responsible for the commercial side of the products and the retail strategy.

Jessica Biel's Bow Bodice Prada at the Oscars

The biggest subject of buzz around the fashion blogosphere today was just how amazing gowns worn by the hottest celebrities during the 2009 Oscar Awards . Most female celebrities are “weighing in” on Oscar fashion with different poses to showcase their outfits bringing their individual designers.

Unfortunately, Prada hasn't had a big female score at the awards night. One of the star studded celebrities, Jessica Biel arrived at the Oscars in an ivory Prada number with a fresh face and a sensational smile proved after the event that Prada can look bad on occasion as well. Her ivory dress was both floppy and sloppy on the elegant red carpet.

The bow bodice Ivory Prada dress was a cool move - a very fashion move but totally obscured her amazing figure. Maybe some women really love this dress but for men, they are wanted that the big bow will be removed. Interesting statement though.

In fairness, Jessica looks lovely in white, and white is clearly one of the hottest trends during the night and bow bodice looks modern fashion statement.

Will you raise your eyebrow after seeing the pictures below?
