The Seaosn's Prada Two-Piece Boots

Prada has an excellent way to update us with our old style. Definitely, the house of Prada cut it apart with their two-piece boots.

The boots have a modern look with its architectural heel and a side zipper designed for easy lacing and unlacing. I do like the touch of sheen on the graphite leather, however when I saw the hefty price tag of $1800, my eyes went positively popping out of their sockets.

I think this Prada boots doesn't prove their worthiness, for the reason I didn't see any embellishments, exotic skins or even an artistic craftsmanship.

I don't know what comes on your mind guys...Feel free to express what you think...

Miley Cyrus Sports Prada Handbag

I am stumbling over the fashion blogs and accidentally found pretty cowgirl Miley Cyrus sporting orange Prada handbag. I’m officially jealous of her. I know when I was her age I was lucky to have a local backpack, never mind this slick Prada purse.

Though Prada seems like a grown-up choice for this teeny-bopper, the orange patent delivers a suitably young attitude. It’s playful, yet polished. I also like how Miley’s paired it with more muted neutrals, so the handbag really stands out.

Go Miley, rock your way!!!

The Extreme Prada Shoes

The Prada shoes demand attention with their exotic styles, shapes, colors, and designs. In sharp contrast to her towering, panic-inducing spring/summer 2009 shoe collections, which caused few models to stumble and fall, the Prada’s fall/winter 2009 collections are far more forgiving.

Heels of the 5-plus inch variety were still on hand, however, but with a chunkier, sturdier heel this time around.

Take a note to these thigh-grazing leather sporting boots with a sensibly low 2-inch rubber heel, which still managed to exude a certain sex appeal.

For good measure, Muiccia threw in some embellished stiletto stunners, sure to keep the shoe-obsessed Prada lady happy.

Will you stumble or not?

Accessorize yourself with Prada “Heart Cell Charms”

Fashion Influential Figure #40: Miuccia Prada

Prada. The name alone signifies style and luxury, designer handbags and fabulous shoes. The name itself is always one of the most important female figures in the world of fashion to date. She has an exquisite mind to design unique styles that was preferred by most celebrities all over the world. She has feminine collections for a new set of standard with strong and powerful mantra.

She was able to renovate the appearance of the products that were being manufactured in the company. She had great interest in unusual and varied fabrics that led to a characteristic trademark of products. The combination of materials was very different. The products of Prada were uniquely distinct due to two reasons. One, materials were used in very unusual contexts as against the normal and how they exactly fit the purpose.

Due to these reasons, she was proclaimed as one of the most influential fashion figures in the industry. I really thank you Ms. Prada for your great contribution to the fashion world. Cheers!!!

Prada 2009 Resort Campaign

Miuccia Prada is a glamorous lady in her 2009 Resort Campaign and most of us like it. The campaign was shot by Steven Meisel, featuring the Dutch model Ymre Stiekema holding the embellished Prada handbags. See her full frontal face shot that absolutely demands attention. Her black zip jacket makes a perfect backdrop to the colorful satin chain bags.

So much glitz would overpower a model, but not to this gorgeous Prada model. Her strong personality go perfectly with Prada's dazzling designs. Looking forward to see more of her posed Ad Campaigns in the future.

The house of Prada in collaboration with AMO productions created a "Prada Spring/Summer 2009 Look Book" collection. An exploration of the collection's domain of inspiration by AMO. The divinity, tribalism and primitive symbolism that was graphically represented through the dialogue of references between fashion and imagery of Miuccia Prada's concept.

The project was collaborated with Miuccia Prada and architect Rem Koolhaas and his Amo agency team. Koolhaas worked with Ippolito Pestellini Laparelli and artist Lok Jansen, author of the previous edition and of Jeruniverse.

I Love Prada Wallets

The designer has a reputation for creating eccentric and sophisticated styles, Prada wallets are able to make fine distinctions and remain classic in their styles.
The most common crafting materials for these wallets are nylon, leather and jacquard fabric. The most common Prada accessories are crafted using the signatured-black nylon materials.

This is truly the work of an exquisite mind as Miuccia Prada delivers to her empire. The classic Prada wallets have a nylon gabardine with the silverstone and has a Prada logo embossed on front. Color black is very common but certain seasons have allowed to used multiple colors to showcase the entire collections.

Looking at the latest iconic Prada wallet collections awakens my soul. Be the first to own atleast one.

Head over to styledrops and I'll tell you the secret.

Prada Shoe in Gold Platform for Spring 2009

I am stumbling over the fashion blogs and I just came across to this Prada Shoe in Gold Platform. It’s not that I don’t like this Prada shoe but for me, it seems the design and color is suited for winter collection rather than this spring season.

It looks like a big Christmas ornament because of the gold metallic accent that shining throughout the day and night which always reminds me of holiday parties. The satin fabric is tremendously flowing and the big bows are definitely an eye grabber to everybody. Despite of my Prada obsession, I don’t think I will shell out the ungodly amount of cash to this angelic beauty that usually Prada brings.

Fortunately, the shoe is readily available this Spring 2009. Also head over to Styledrops to see more of Spring/Summer Prada 2009 Shoe Collections.

Do You Speak Prada? A Shopaholic Confession

I am totally confessed after we've watched the movie “Confessions of a Shopaholic” with friends last Friday. It was awesome and really a remarkable movie to be watched again and again.

If so, Confessions of a Shopaholic should totally be on your to-do list this weekend.

My Movie Confession

Confessions of a Shopaholic is the typical American comedy that tends to do well at the box office, but this time it's also a tribute to fashion brands. Isla Fisher played to panic-attack perfection by Rebecca Bloomwood, a girl obsessed with brand names and designer finds. She is an aspiring fashion writer who’s in over her head — in debt, in love, and in a job she barely interviewed for and doesn’t know how to do (except she has a snappy pink iBook!). But her muses — Prada, Gucci, Louboutin — ensure that even if she gets found out as the imposter, she’s flowing the tide of fashion with style.

"You know that thing when you see someone cute and he smiles, and your heart kind of goes like warm butter sliding down hot toast, well that's what it's like when I see a store." says Rebecca.
The movie, for which plot is merely an accessory, romps through sample sales, (like Gucci boots at 50 percent off!), talking mannequins stressed out the infamous green scarf as the “key piece” in the movie. "This scarf would become part of a definition of your psyche,” one whispers, “it would be an investment!”and a roommate’s wedding, all while watching Rebecca elude the evil bill collector Derek Smeathe.

Woman in fab lane; the film stylist of famous Sex and the City, Patricia Field is also the stylist of the movie. We can expect a ton of quirky looks, from vintage to high fashion from her. Ms. Field describes Rebecca's look in the film as "a little eclectic mix of something cute, something designer. It was an opportunity for me to create a different look for people to see that they haven't really seen before. It's fashion-forward but also a little exaggeration for this extreme character who can't stop shopping."

Pratfalls and amazing stiletto heels are there to move things along at every turn, and the one and only costume designer, Patricia Field (Sex and the City) keeps us on detail overload: bright colors, flirty hemlines, fabulous coats and “IT” handbags as far as our eyes can see.
The film was shot in New York City, using stores such as Henri Bendel, Catherine Malandrino, Barney's , YSL and Prada fashion house as the backdrop.

Other characters in the film – dreamy boss
Luke Brandon (Hugh Dancy), long-suffering roommate Suze (Krysten Ritter), goddess fashion editor Alette (Kristin Scott Thomas, helping Rebecca pick out an outfit for a television interview), and the bewildered but loving parents (John Goodman and Joan Cusack) contribute to the fray. Raising Eyebrow.....

Hello Prada lover. I know some of you guys are wondering how I came up with the title of this new post. The fact that
Prada is on my must-have accessory list.

I am totally amazed and impressed the occurrence of Prada label in the movie. This happened during Rebecca and her handsome boss, Luke Brandon shopped at the Prada store for the preparation of her boss outfit for the dinner party. Do you speak Prada? shockingly asked Rebecca in an unbelievable emotion to her boss.

Looking at the latest iconic Prada collection from the brand has my mouth watering. Gah. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I love how this goddess look in my outfit too!

Prada at Milan Fashion Week for A/W 2009

Milan Fashion Week was a complete 360 degrees that showcased fashion powerhouses with their ultimate designers.

Miuccia Prada is a renowned fashion designer everyone looks every Fashion Week because you know what she sends down the catwalk will be reproduced a million times the following season. She is a trendsetter, a revolutionary and a damn brilliant designer.

This season was no exception. A cross between "The Changling and A River Runs Through It", Prada’s Fall/Winter 2009 was an intriguing collection to say the least. Imagine that a character from Gosford Park ran off with a fisherman and you’ll understand the feel to this collection. This is ultra glamorous, super feminine and tough.

Practical Collections from Prada

If you take a closer look on fur Prada clothing you can see the perfect blend of easy to wear coats, fascinating evening wears that was glamorously and surprisingly dressed down with fisherman’s waders. Suiting and shifts made up the majority of this line, but shapes are played proportionally to skinny belts. The shorts tied high on the waist with tucked in, pulled down cardigans look sexy yet quirky. The dull palette of blacks, chocolates and browns are highlighted with olive, rust and red.

The footwear collections were “walkable” in nature that took into the next level for Prada shoes. Pumps, clogs and satin evening shoes sat nicely alongside those lovely waders. This was a collection that you can easily wear everyday without any hesitation.

The velvet fabrics are the huge trend for AW09 and the patterns added great impact on luxurious feel embellished with sequins created a dramatic appeal. These array of elegant dresses are the perfect remedy for the dark days.

So whether it’s the silhouettes, gorgeous handbags, sensible and walkable shoes or fur skirts, you can be sure you will be wearing a Prada inspired outfit for the upcoming season.

Prada Shoes Glides Down at the Milan Runway

Eve may have wanted an apple; but in the world of Miuccia Prada, the high-priestess of Italian fashion, early woman was far more interested in satisfying her primitive obsessions for gold, python-skins and animal-print.

The name behind the Prada label is truly a genius that swims against the tide of fashion and doing some experiments with primitive concepts. Shockingly, it was the hilarious night that totally marked the most memorable event of the fashion house.
Not only Miucca Prada’s sultry embellished fashion for Spring/Summer 2009 collection of primitive caveman-like designs but also the hilarious fall of two models during their catwalk.

The show was received a standing ovation from the crowd with full of admiration and envy to be included in the royalty of Prada but not before two of the models fell over on their killer heels.

This is also a significant day for a historic 6-inch skyscraper heels Prada shoes for 2009 Spring/Summer Collection. The shoes are made of snakeskin that can be put in the museum for display to mark the history.

But by God you'd have to be brave to wear a pair. Or just have plenty of medical insurance.

In addition, Prada’s ready-to-wear collection signifies the work of an exquisite mind to the current trend for everything: from exotics, jeweled and embellished and sequins. True to its subject, the outfits are purely primitive and caveman-like appeal in nature with the absence of zippers and hooks in favor of ties and drawstrings and elasticized waists.

In my own perspective, the show has a subversive sexual provocation with futuristic approach that the house of Prada brought to us.

Prada Spring/Summer 2009 Campaign Ads

Talk about a pleasant surprise to the glamour and proportion. I was totally blown away after seeing the Prada's beautifully revealed Spring/Summer 2009 Campaign Ads. The sexy and very sophisticated clothing worn by the models reflects their true personality as simple as they are that spoke volumes.

My mind instantly went into overdrive when I noticed that the collection was inspired by a primitive woman and an ancient stone bas-reliefs and a desire to return to basic emotional and physical dimensions in classical art and early culture. I am thinking “what would come of the campaign? Models with bones in their hair carrying wild animals”? Sounds cliche!!!

Well, I can finally put my whimsy feelings to rest. Keeping in mind that we have to evolve as human being with talents. Prada has moved on from it's days of Sasha Pivovarova to Linda Evangelista, and to the recent runway models including Nimue Smit, Giedre Dukauskaite, Sigrid Agren, Toni Garrn, Katrin Thormann, Viktoriya Sosonkina, and Ymre Stiekema.

See a line-up of gorgeously glowing Prada models, seemingly connected by dance as they don those elegantly crumpled dresses adorned in bows and bras and those towering shoes for the women's wear campaign images.

Prada Spring 2009 Campaign Trail for Ymre Stiekema

Currently causing confusion and totally raised my eyebrow this morning while reading fashion blogs. I just came across to a published interview with Ymre Stiekema, one of Prada's Spring 2009 exclusives. As we all know, Ymre has already appeared in the Fall 2008 Prada Linea Rossa campaign, so is this campaign she's talking about Linea Rossa? Resort 2009? Spring 2009?

Let's find out....
Ymre Stiekema, image courtesy of Elite Milan

Sigrid Agren, image courtesy of Elite Milan

Elite Milan , one of the most prestigious modeling agency network in the world, produced two distinct models: Ymre Stiekema and Sigrid Agren. As reported, Ymre Stiekema opened the show, while Sigrid Agren closed the Miuccia’s Spring Campaign, and both beauties captured the ethereal yet classic feel of the collection perfectly.

Ymre Stiekema divulged that she scored an ace in Milan to work on a Prada Spring 2009 Campaign.

The flip side to supermodel Sasha Pivovarova's beautiful alien look, newcomer Ymre Stiekema is hitting it out of the park for Spring/Summer 2009. It might end up a homerun for the 16-year-old Dutchie, whose old-school beauty and perfectly symmetrical features landed her in the opening slot of Prada's show in Milan. She might be from the other side of the Atlantic, but Stiekema oozes a translucent sensuality that’s almost Brazilian—serious sex appeal and a little bit of ‘je ne sais quoi’ that you can’t quite put your finger on. But you can rest assured that this blonde bombshell is staying grounded, even if standing tall at 5'10" does make the her want to reach for the stars. Kaira van Wijk

14 QUESTIONS for YMRE STIEKEMA

  1. What are you working on right now? The Prada campaign for which I'm currently staying in Milan.
  2. Who inspires you at the moment? My boyfriend, Wouter.
  3. Who do you admire? People who have a clear goal in life and are not afraid to fight for it.
  4. How would you describe your style? Casual and minimalistic.
  5. What are you wearing right now? Just jeans, a blouse, and vest.
  6. Weirdest work request so far? There was this one shoot where I had to pose and stand still while in this tiny boat on a stormy lake. Not so easy.
  7. What makes you miss home the most besides family and friends? I miss my volleyball workouts. I have a great team and coach so it used to be one of my all-time favorite things to do, even on rainy Sunday mornings.
  8. Superstitious or religious? Superstitious.
  9. Fortune or fame? In the end, definitely fortune.
  10. Which upcoming show are you most excited about? The Prada show during Milan fashion week, of course!
  11. Hidden off-the-runway talent? Kind of hard to say about myself, but I've been told that I'm a good photographer as well.
  12. Is the modeling world any different than you expected? Most of the time the fashion industry gets a bad rap, and a lot of media out there contributes to that. But so far I've been working with lots of great people and I'm guided very well by Elite (my mother agency in Amsterdam), who are always supportive.
  13. What scares you? Being forced into something I don't stand for or believe in.
  14. If you were to invite five people, either dead or alive, to a dinner party, who would they be? My boyfriend, parents, brother, and sisters. That's 6 people, but I couldn't leave anyone out. I'd rather see them whenever I can than anyone else in this world.

Miuccia Prada: the Name Behind the Label

The fashion label, Prada was founded in 1913 in Milan, Italy as a manufacturer of luxury leather goods. What is known today as Prada is mostly the work of the founder's grand-daughter Miuccia Prada.

Miuccia Prada, an Italian designer and entrepreneur was born in 1949. After university, she entered the family business 1978 and soon revolutionized the appearance of its products. Her interest in unusual fabrics led to the distinctive trademark of Prada products: the surprising combination of materials. There are usually two discoveries to be made when dealing with Prada products: First, the surprise to see the use of a specific material in an unusual context and in consequence, the astonishment how good it fits the purpose. In 1989, she introduced women's wear with instant success, men's wear followed equally successful in 1995.

Prada is said to be the most prominent example of a new form of inward-directed luxury. While in the eighties luxury was explicitly displayed, today an understated luxury is sought, only recognizable by insiders. Thus, Prada clothes avoid very loud coloring and easily appealing appearances. They are described as cool, comfortable, pure, graceful, and minimalistic.

Miuccia Prada, who is entirely in charge of the companies creative decisions, says she bases her decisions mostly on intuition. She is reported to be overly fussy about each detail of her design. It can happen that each product has to be changed over and over in order to come closest to Miuccia Prada's initial idea. Her husband Patrizio Bertelli is the business-man behind Miuccia Prada. He is responsible for the commercial side of the products and the retail strategy.

Prada Spring 2009 Primitive Handbag Collections

Miuccia Prada had a sound bite for her Spring collection. "It's primitive," she said, "going back to what counts." And what counts most in a back-to-basics time.

Prada, along with fellow fashion houses is known for its practice of casting new models to walk exclusively in their runway shows every season. One of their greatest collections revealed on handbags corner.

I am so pleased that the Prada Handbags
Spring for 2009 have hit the shelves. The Spring 2009 handbags are the best that Prada present for the first time to the public in quite awhile. I really love both the crinkled leather handbags, as well as the python embossed leather ones. The bows add a feminine touch without going against the Prada image and being too girly. Considering the economic recession, I wish that if possible we can get the look of python in lower prices. These Prada handbags are available at Styledrops in an affordable prices for your fashion needs.
